This temple is unique in that the main deity <strong>Lord\u00a0<\/strong>Subramanya is found as a <strong>seven<\/strong> <strong>headed serpent<\/strong> together with <strong>Lord\u00a0Narasimha<\/strong> in a\u00a0single stone, back to back. For the worshippers to get a glimpse of both the deities, a mirror has been strategically placed at the rear side of the idol. Lord <strong>Subramanya<\/strong> faces east and is prominently visible, while Lord Narasimha faces west and is visible on the mirror behind.<\/p>\n<h3><strong><u>Temple Poojas and their benefits:<\/u><\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Few of the major rituals performed at this temple include Kuja Dosha, Naga Pratistha, Sarpa Dosha Nivarana Homa. The Ghati Subramanya temple is a\u00a0<strong>Sarpa Dosha Parihara<\/strong>\u00a0<strong>Sthala<\/strong> and is known for\u00a0<strong>Naga Kshetra. <\/strong>Devotees with Sarpa Dosha visit this temple and do\u00a0Special Poojas,<strong>\u00a0 NagaPrathista<\/strong>\u00a0(Installing the Idols of snake)<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0<strong>Sarpa Dosha Nivarana<\/strong>\u00a0<strong>Homa<\/strong>. Childless couples may visit this temple and do\u00a0<strong>NagaPrathista<\/strong>\u00a0to get their wish fulfilled. Offering or Pouring of milk on the Naga Idols that are placed under the Banyan Trees is considered auspicious. The fastest route from the station to the temple is via Doddaballapur Rd and Bellary Rd covering 56 km which approximately takes about 1 hr 30 min.<\/p>\n<p>The nearest local railway station is Makalidurga in Kelaginajuganahalli which is about 4km away.<\/p>\n<h4><strong>By Road:<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>The distance from Bangalore city to Doddaballapura\u00a0covering 44km\u00a0can be reached by KSRTC or BMTC\u2019s. The 16km distance from Doddaballapura to Ghati Subramanya can be covered by KSRTC or private carriages.<\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>Do\u2019s and Dont&#8217;s while visiting the temple:<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Do not visit any Vishnu Temple immediately after performing Sarpa Dosha Parihara Pooja. It is recommended to take head bath before visiting any Vishnu Temple.<\/li>\n<li>Do not offer Sashtanga Namaskara in any Naga Devatha Temple.<\/li>\n<li>For ladies, Sarpa Dosha Nivarana Pooja should not be performed nearer to the Monthly period time.
