These celestial bodies are named Surya (Sun), Chandra (Moon), Mangala (Mars), Budha (Mercury), Brihaspati (Jupiter), Shukra (Venus), Shani (Saturn), Rahu (North Lunar Node) and Ketu (South Lunar Node). The majority of these temples are dedicated to Shiva. The Surya temple is the only one dedicated to the Graham. Get rid of any malefic effects of planetry positions with this package.

Kailasanathar Swamy Temple,Thingalur
  • Kailasanathar Swamy temple is one of the nine Navagraha sthalas.
  • The presiding deity of Thingalur is Soma(moon).
  • The main idol in the temple is that of "Kailasanathar" or Shiva.
  • Thingalur Kailasanathar temple is noted for the importance of first rice feeding of the infant child known as Anna Prasanam.
  • Before feeding the child with rice (Annaprasana) the child is shown the moon and a cow, thus bringing the blessings of Jaladevadha (water God) and Oushadhi Devadha (God of medicines). Devotees contribute for temple renovation and maintenance, perform abishek and offer vastras to Lord and Mother.

Apatsahayesvarar Temple,Alangudi
  • Apatsahayesvarar Temple, Alangudi or Guru Sthalam is dedicated to Lord Shiva.
  • It is one of the 276 Paadal Petra Sthalams.
  • The temple is one of the nine Navagraha sthalas dedicated to planet Jupiter, called Dakshinamoorthy, the Guru.
  • Legend is that Siva consumed deadly poison, giving rise to the name Alangudi.
  • This sacred shrine of Jupiter is renowned for its tri-glories,i.e. Moorthy (The Presiding Deity), sthalam (Place of divinity) and theertham (The Holy Water).
  • Lakhs of people throng his place, particularly on the day of Jupiter’s transit to the next sign., to solicit Jupiter’s protection from afflictions.

Naganathaswami Temple,Thirunageswaram
  • Naganatha Swami is a temple dedicated to Lord Shiva.
  • An important feature of Naganatha Swami temple is that of Rahu bhagawan (one of the nine celestial bodies) sannathi.
  • Here milk abhishekam is performed daily during Rahukaalam. At this time, the milk that is poured on the statue turns blue when it passes over the body and once again to white after it reaches the floor. This wonder is watched by many daily during the Raahu Kaalam.
  • This is also the only place wherein one can view Rahu bhagawan with his consorts.

Sooryanar Temple,Suriyankoil
  • The presiding deity is suryanarayana in a chariot like vimaanam. The nearby Poolaivala River is an added attraction to this temple.
  • This is the only temple where all the navagrahas are present with separate sannadhis.
  • Those who pray here will get relief from their problems.
  • If one baths in the nine ghats in this place continuously for 12 Sundays, they will be saved from sufferings and blessed with a happy and peaceful life.
  • Special occasions for suryanar koil are during Ratha Saptami festival during jan and also Vijaya Dashami and annual Brahmotsavam festival are also famous.
  • Offering for suryanar temple- Color-Red, Grain-Wheat, Flower-Lotus, Fabric-Red cloth, Gem-Ruby, Vahana-The chariot drawn by seven horses.

Agneeswarar Temple,Kanjanoor
  • The Agneeswarar Temple is in the village of Kanjanur.
  • The presiding deity is Sukra (Venus).
  • The main idol in the temple is that of "Agniswarar" or Shiva.
  • Sukra is believed to be located within the stomach of the idol of Shiva.
  • Legend is that Siva blessed Parasara muni(sage) here with cosmic dance.
  • Lord sukran is offered with white lotus, white cloth,mochai kottai(common bean) and aththi (fig) to alleviate problems caused by sukra doshams.
  • Friday is the day of sukran and worship on fridays is considered as very special.

Sri Vaidhyanathaswami Temple,Vaitheeswaran Koil
  • Shiva is worshipped as Vaitheeswaran or the "God of healing" and it is believed that prayers to Vaitheeswaran can cure diseases.
  • It is one of the nine Navagraha (nine planets) temples associated with the planet Mars (Angaraka).
  • The village is also known for palm leaf astrology called Naadi astrology in Tamil.
  • The holy waters of the Siddhamirtham tank within the temple complex contains nectar, and a holy dip is believed to cure all diseases.
  • It is one of the Paadal Petra Sthalam.
  • During the Ramayana period, Rama, Lakshmana and Saptarishi have worshipped the deity in this place. There is a pond at this temple called Jatayu kundam (pot of Jatayu having holy ash of Vibhuti). One of the nine planets, Angaraka (Mars), suffered from leprosy and was cured by Vaidhyanathaswamy and from then on it is treated as one of the Navagraha Temples for planet Angaraka.
  • It is also a local belief that dissolving jaggery (Tamil:vellam) in the waters cures skin diseases.
  • Tonsure ceremony of getting children shaved for the first time to promote proper growth is a very common practise.

Swetharanyeswarar Temple,Thiruvenkadu
  • Swetharanyeswarar Temple or budhan temple located in the town of Thiruvenkadu.
  • Swetharanyeswarar is the main God in this temple.
  • There is a separate Sannidhi for Budha (mercury).
  • This temple is especially known for its unique incarnate of Lord Shiva called "Agora Murthi". He is one of the main god who is being prayed in this village.
  • Thiruvengadu village is also famous for its unique structure of pools in temples. This temple has 3 pools, 3 Gods.
  • It is a belief that who takes bath in all these pools, the one will be free from their problems like diseases, delay in marriages.
  • Worshipping budha bhagvan here on wednesdays results in get rid of budhan doshams.
  • Offering Green clothes and full Moong dal here is very special.
  • “Pillai Idukki Amman” is the mother who bestows the progeny for the childless.

Naganathar Swamy Temple,Keelaperumpallam
  • The shiva temple also called as Keelaperumpallam Kethu temple.
  • The Naganathar shiva temple is famous for Navagraha workship of kethu.
  • The Kethu story is related to the churning of Parkadal (milky way) for nectar. Lord Vishnu wanted to distribute the nectar only to devas but asura raghu also received the nectar and swallowed, this incident has been found by sun and moon and reported to Vishnu. Vishnu beheaded the rahu but he did not die because he swallowed the nectar, then his head is called as Kethu and his body is called as Rahu.
  • All devotees are request to see the shiva and parvathi first, then go to the kethu.
  • Those facing some adverse aspects of this planet, pray first to Lord Naganatha and Kethu with red flowers, offering horsegram rice – Kollu sadham – as nivedhana and light seven deepas.
  • On the Rahu-Kethu transition day, a special Homa is organized by the Archakas-priests-of the temple. According to numerology, No. 7 belongs to Kethu. !6 types (1+6=7) of pujas are performed chanting 7 lakh mantras.

Saneeswarar Temple,Thirunallar
  • The moolavar of Dharbarenyeswarar is Swayambu Lingam.
  • Sanipeyarchi festival for two days once in two and half years when “Sani” changes his gruha or place.
  • Among the Navagrahas, Lord Saturn (Saneeswarar) occupies an important place.
  • The place was originally a forest of Dharba grass and it is stated that the Lingam even now has impressions left by the Dharba weeds within which it was situated.
  • Thirunallar is one of the “saptha vidanga sthalam”.
  • People pray to swarna ganapathy here to overcome financial problems.
  • Devotees offer blue cloth and light gingely oil lamp. Special poojas are performed on saturdays.
