Sri SwarnaPureeswarar Temple is located in the village of Ponparappi, Ariyalur district, Tamil Nadu. It dates back to the 10th century. The Navagraha Yantra – a disc in which the powers of the planets are collectively embodied – is installed under the feet of the presiding deity Lord Swarnapureeswarar.

- Lord Shiva graces in the temple as Shodasa Linga – with 16 stripes. The devotee can observe rays of Sun setting on the Lord through the horns of Balanandhi on Panguni Uthiram day between 6.00 a.m. to 7.30 a.m. in March-April.
- This is a linga with Navapashana power made of Suryakandha – solar magnetic stone. The 5.5 feet tall Linga is mounted on Brahamma and Vishnu Peetas majestically.Thus all the three Lords Shiva, Vishnu and Brahmma are in a single form here.

- Devotees having Kalasarpa doshas pray to Balanandeeswara during Rahukalam time here on their birth star days for reliefs.
- During the abishek with milk, honey and sandal, the devotee can observe a light blue line forming on Balanandeeswara.
