Morning
Sri Kalyana Sundarar Temple,Thirumanancheri
  • Parvathi Devi performed Tapas in this sthalam to marry Shiva Perumaan and finally got married in this sthalam and because of this the sthalam is called as "Thiru Mananchery".
  • Special attraction of this temple is the Posture of Shiva Perumaan in the form of Sri Kalyana Sundarar in the beautiful Marriage pose along with Ambal.
  • This is a very old 10th Century Chola Temple, though the major stone structures were constructed later by the Chola Kings (11th to 15th century AD).

Mangaleeshwar Temple, Idhayatirumangalam
  • "Mangalyam" which denotes the "Thaali" in Tamil and "Mangal sutra" in Hindi; the name of the deity is Lord Maangaleeswarar, so one can easily understand this is one of the apt temple to visit for marriage.
  • Unmarried women and men born under Uthiram Star visit this temple to clear away the hurdles causing delay in marriage.
  • One of the divine rishi named "Maangalya Maharishi" was born on Uthiram Nakshatram. He is the one, who indicates the right time of the marriage in a very sookshama (tiny (or) invisible) roopam; Daily, he prays Arulmighu Maangaleeswarar to strengthen his power. Once the marriage gets fixed, the devotees place the First Invitation to the divine feet of Mangalya Maharishi and invite him to grace their marriage.

Sri Vedapureeswar Temple, Thiruvedhikudi
  • One of the devara padal petra sthalams.
  • This sthalam is one of the Dosha nivarthi sthalam for marriage.
  • In Devaram, Gnana Sambandar says that this is one of the right temple to visit regarding any doshams in marriage.
  • Lord Vedapureeswarar is a Swayambumurthy. Rays of Sun God fall on the presiding deity on 13, 14 and of Panguni month – March-April.
Pooja Details

Pooja details in Thirumanancheri Temple
  • Materials needed for pooja are two garlands, two coconut, Turmeric, Kunkumam, Campher, Ghee, sandal poweder, betal leaf, betal nut, lemon and banana .
  • As soon as you enter the temple bow down towards the Kodi maram followed by Sri Selva Ganapathy and then light 5 deepam on the ghee deepa mandapam and sit inside the marriage prarthanai mandapam.
  • The Archakar will come and get all the pooja materials you have bought; dedicate completely yourself towards Sri Kalyana Sundareswar and Ambal with complete belief; you'll be given the prasadham at the end of the pooja.
  • The Next morning, after bath, the boy/girl should pray wearing this garland and then drink the lemon juice with a little water. Drink the juice of lemon(prasadam) without adding sugar (or) salt.
  • Have the garland tied inside a small bag and keep it in the pooja room.
  • Once the marriage is over, couple should visit the temple and dedicate the garland at the temple.
  • One more parihara seen at this temple is the offering of milk payasam to mangala Raghu on every new moon day (amavasai) as a prayer for child birth.

  • Woman who seeks to get married soon lit ghee light towards Maangalya maharishi and once marriage is fixed, the first marriage invitation is kept for his blessings.

Pooja details in Sri Vedapureeswar Temple
  • During the tamil month of aadi and thai, on Fridays, women who seek good husbands dedicate sarees and taali(Mangalsootra) to the goddess Mangayarkarasi in this temple.
  • Bhaktas whose marriage is getting delayed because of chevvai dosham must visit this sthalam by performing abhishekam to the deity Sri Subramanyar in this temple and this will reduce the effect of dosham.
