SRI VARAHASWAMY TEMPLE:

Dedicated to Lord Vishnu in his Varaha incarnation, Sri Varahaswami Temple is located on the banks of Pushkarini River, facing the more prominent Sri Venkateswara Temple in Tirumala. According to legend, Lord Venkateswara had to take permission from Sri Adi Varaha Swami to stay in Tirumala, which was originally Adi Varaha Kshetra (the home of Sri Adi Varaha Swami). Hence, it is imperative to visit this temple and offer ‘naivedyam’ here before we make our visit to the famous Venkateswara Swamy Temple.

The idol of Lord Varahaswami in Sri Varahaswami Temple is that of Adi Varaha, the reason being that it resembles the description of the Adi Varaha Murti in Vaikhanasa Agama texts.
