Sri Subrahmanyeswara Swamy Temple, Mopidevi

Sri Subrahmanyeswara Swamy Temple, also known as MopiDevi Temple, is a hindu temple dedicated to Lord Subramanya represented in the form of Lingam. It is located at Mopidevi village in Andhra Pradesh.
Worshipping Subrahmanyeswara at the temple bestows devotees with Child boon, marriage boon, Sarpa dosha nivarana, Anapathya dosha nivarana, rahu kethu dosha nivarana, relief from problems related to vision, ears and skin.
As per legend, four rishis who were spiritual intellects and ardent devotees of Lord Shiva, were so detached from the worldly matters that their behavior and way of life seemed to be that of 5 year old. They were even naked, uncovered by any cloth. When they had gone to visit Lord Shiva at Kailasa, even the goddesses Sachi Devi, Swaha Devi, Saraswati and Lakshmi had arrived. Lord Subramanya chuckled innocently looking at the two contrastingly attired groups namely rishis and Goddesses. Goddess Parvathi condemned Subramanya for this act. Realizing his lapse, Subramanya performed penance in disguise as a snake for several years to get rid of the blemish. This place where Lord Subramanya performed penance is called as MopiDevi.

The nearest airport to the temple is Vijaywada airport at a distance of 65 km. Buses and taxi services are available to reach the temple.

By Rail:

Repalle railway station is the nearest station to the temple at a distance of 12 km. Public transport is available to reach the temple from the station.

By Road:

Adequate buses are available from Vijaywada to the temple. Also Machilipatnam is 30 km from Mopidevi temple.
