7 Splendid temples in Tamil Nadu not to be missed!
Once a while we go for a spiritual trip and usually we target the very well known temples. And of course they will be crowded (As usual we pick the long holidays for these trips and eventually we land in a pack) and we tend to loose our experience. There are also many lesser-known astounding temples that are typically missed. Our team has picked 7 such temples that are worth taking a visit.
- Sri Rajagopalaswamy Temple, Mannargudi
A Vaishnavite shrine with presiding deity Rajagopalaswamy, a form of Lord Krishna. The temple is called Dakshina Dwarka (Southern Dwarka) along with Guruvayoor. He has butter on the right hand, an ornament around the hip, key bunch, bangles in hand and jewels of children. There is cow and two calves by His side. The temple complex is huge with 16 gopurams (tower gateways), 7 prakarams (outer courtyard), 24 shrines, seven mandapams (halls) and nine sacred theerthams (temple tanks).
